the boy I love

busy few weeks...finals, more finals, mother's day, greta's Birthday (pictures to come mom :) more finals..will they ever END?!! anyways, amidst it all i must pay tribute to Ozzie and his 8 months of life!
Ozzie is changing...FAST! reaching for everything, hating his swing all of the sudden, not liking baby food but wanting everything we eat exactly as we eat it...not mushed, teething like a banchee, whining when i go out of sight, loving the sound of his own screaming voice, still hating formula...all varieties, busting out of his jammies on every level... i could go on

but apart from all the sort of typical 8 month physical baby stuff, a few things remain the same.

he is SO sensitive. if Greta cries, he cries. if i raise my voice to loud he lip quivers...very in-tune.

he is SO SOLID! i can not hold him on my hip for longer than 10 min. before my arm is shaking.

he can go from A- Happy, smiling, laughing, playing baby to Z- screaming, un-consolable, grouch pants in literally 2 seconds flat...I'm told that's a "Me" trait, but i wont take the blame.

i can say he's definatly the boy i love so much...without any reservation... because Dick at somepoint in the past 6 years since we met has finally got his Man on . love you both.

this pic captures Ozzie perfectly. Happy, drooly, scratches, tongue up and curled.

questions, questions, questions?

I think maybe i've taken for granted how 'well spoken' Greta is. She has always been a very good communicator and she has made it quite easy for us to understand what she needs or wants which is always a struggle for parents to figure out. Anyways, the past few months she has become more inquisitive than ever. Asking 5 bazillion questions about everything and anything. Mommy, whats that funny smell? what are you eating? why does Ozzie bite everything? whats in your mouth? why does Helen like bacon so much? where are we going today? what time is it? 2 oclock? is there still a baby in your tummy? (gggrrrr) why do you have owies on your face?(ggrrrrrr) etc. etc. etc... it sounds all cute and innocent, but can become annoying at times, especially when you dont feel like answering every little thing. Just when I thought I'd had enough questions for one day, i was on the phone with someone and I said my "husband" at somepoint in the conversation. when I got off the phone it went like this:

Greta: Mommy whats a husband?
Me: Well, Daddy is my Husband, and I'm his Wife because we are Married.
Greta: I want to be a wife
Me: One day when you grow up and meet a nice young man, you can get married in the Temple and you will be a wife too.
...
...
...( After a very thoughtful, contemplative pause, and that questionable look on her face)

Greta: Can I take my buddy (blankie) with me?

i love the questions. keep them coming.

Sasha Fierce

This is for you Jen, Amy, Heath and anyone else who wants to see how close we were to Beyonce....the sound quality is brutal because of the LOUD bass but you get the idea. there's more videos but the files were too big. good times.

Gymnastersize

I enrolled Greta in a "Tumbleweeds" gymnastics class this term( thanks Erin) to help beat the Winter blues and give her some one on one time with mommy. She LOVED it! and so did I watching her run around and climb on everything and make a few new little friends! It was a great class where they basically got to do whatever they wanted with adult supervision, and Greta loved her teacher a lot! It's over now, but here's a few pics from her last class!
Hiding under the "Rainbow" waiting for class to start!

She was a champ on the rings, and she loves to hang on everything and lift her legs as high as possible( seen here)
She also loved the trampoline mostly due to lots of practice on our bed

She got quite brave by the end of the term and even did the small balance beam all by herself

Just running away from me as usual

showing her "special paper" of achievement

She looks a bit Bi-polar in these last pics!

snow white

I eavesdropped on Greta flipping through her Snow White book today and "reading " her version of the story... here's how it went.

"Once upon a time there was a girl with black hair and even though she was a princess her stepmother treated her like a pervert."

The book says "servant."

too funny. it would be quite a different story if it started out like that.

take my breath away....

okay, I was cleaning up some computer files today and deleting some old pics etc. and I stumbled upon an un-labled file from last year so i clicked on it and immediately gasped outloud... here's why...
***warning the following images are disturbing and contain nudity...viewer discresion is advised...to see better click on the photo***

Greta had a few weird looking red marks on her leg one night...innocent enough..

by the morning she had began to swell up everywhere with hives and look like Quasimodo

an hour or so later they were all over her back

then they were everywhere and I began to freak out...

nice bum.. ha

after i took these pics she said her tongue felt funny and we noticed the inside of her mouth and lips were beginning to swell really bad.... so we went to emerg and NOBODY there could figure out what was going on, it wasn't anaphalaxis , wasnt an allergy, wasnt anything. the pediatrician said it was some sort of crazy virus. i thought she was gonna die seriously, she looked SO bad by the time we got there, the only ray of hope i had was that she was acting totally normal. not even a fever, she was running around, talking to the nurses and other sick people, who most likely thought she was a leper or something. and so in the end they Gave greta some major prednazone and sent us home.

the hives began to dissapear the next day and never came back again.. weird. but definatly one of the scariest moments with our little girl. i though it should be documented.
